What are everyones thoughts on the walther P22, Im looking for a .22 that everyone from my parents, girlfriend and myself can enjoy. I really love the look of the walther, any PRO's and CON's I should know about?

    Hello All,

    I would like to know if I can lessen the trigger pull. If so, how would I go about doing it?
    Is there another trigger group I could buy, etc.

    Unless you purchased the pistol used you should have taken the matter up with the mfg. under the warranty.

    Now, my suggestion is that you get a gunsmith to look it over, or you contact the MFG. and see what their charges, etc. are to correct the problem. If the latter is close in cost to the local gunsmith option you may want to pursue it under the premise of "they built it, they should know how to fix it".

    try using remington yellow jackets, hyper velocity ammo. i have to use hi or hyper velocity in my rifle otherwise i get the same problems you seem to be getting. just pickup a 50 pack of yellow jackets and cycle the whole thing through. make sure you clean the gun thouroly after shooting (every time).

    I do know that they are pretty picky when it comes to ammo. They tend to like a bullet with a copper jacket. For some reason they dont feed exposed lead very well. Federal hi velocity ammo cycles well in them also.

    took a while to get my P22 just right , #1 needs 40 grn solid nose copper washed, take the mags apart and clean them good , make sure that lock nut is tight, polish the feed ramp with a dremel then put a few hundred rounds thru it , testing which brands it likes...mine Winchester super X & Federal... it will shoot others but there the best...for some reason it gets dirty faster than anyother 22 I own, even the mags need a cleaning after 300 + rounds...seems Rugers & Beretta's can go much longer ..... thats about it with all its faults I still like it.... oh yeah I only put 8 in the mag ....found it just worked better than the full 10.......................Billy

    I bought one of these a couple of years ago when they came out. They are the neatest looking 22 pistols. I have a Jennings J-22 that is more reliable. I did get a good trade for the Walther though.
