red dot scope vs laser

hi guys, im purchasing a hi point 9mm carbine and i like the package that they offer with the compensator/laser mount...i wanted to know if putting a red dot scope on the carbine as well is a waste...i know that the red dot scope is more for quick target acquisition rather than distance work...so do the laser and red dot scope complement each other or should i ditch the red dot scope in favor of the 4x scope they offer?

thanks...im also considering the same options for a walther g22 carbine

  Go Walther. Go reflex/holo site. Forget hi-points and lasers all together.

  DITCH THE LAZER, they are toys!!!go with the red-dot if you go with anything!!! Fast acguisition shooting, thats what the carbine was designed for, not target shooting!!!
