Steyr usr sunset question... HELP/Thanks
I have a question and can not find an appropriate answer. I know that the weapons ban sunsets in about 1 week. IF this happens, can I LEGALLY change a USR to an Aug? This would involve a bbl change, flash supressor, and bbl pin button (used for the
removal of bbl from the reciever) and finally the stock w/o the thumbhole loop. Yes, still keeping in line w/ all nfa rules. I know that the Steyr is on the list of imported weapons on the omnus crime bill, and that probably will not change, but no one seems to be able to give a correct response to this issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks db

I'm not aware of any US made parts for the USR or AUG which would allow you to reduce your imported parts count to 10 or less.
On other discussion boards there have been people that talked of making replacement hammers and sears with the hope of improving the trigger pull - but I don't think anything ever came of it.
It's rumored that DSA is going to produce a domestic AUG; but again I haven't heard anything concrete ... most likely it will depend on what happens in the next 8 days..If you really want to do something, you'll find a way ...

... If you don't, you'll find any excuse.0
