Apparently 15 BIDDERS think its worth $500.00's......and possibly will go Higher...This will have to be your call.....as You know as much as the rest of us concerning this Rifle.......

if its all original, its a steal at the current price...
i suspect that it may have been refinished / reblued by a proffesional and the wood refinished as well...
it may be a near perfect, mint, all original finish gun...
without wraping my hands around it, and giving it a close inspection, i would not accept his description at face value.

As for this particular rifle I'm inclined to go along with the speculation about refinishing, and the seller's over hype adds to my feelings.
Is it worth $500-600 .... I'd venture to say so as long as you can accept the possibility of restoration work having been done. And my rationale to support that is that all matching s/n rifles in pretty rough condition bring around $500.
If your just looking for a shooter, then there are sporter versions around for $300 or less. In fact there is either one of those on this site or that "other site" right now.

I think its a steal. I tend to believe the sellers description. In the early 60's, Service Armament[pre-Navy Arms] offered these for sale and they were truley as new. I still am in contact with two of the people I sold to and the rifles are spectacular. The description of the fire blue and in-the-white receiver is dead on.This model is one of the many Military rifles I am absolutely sick of having sold when I went to college in 1968!!!

If you do get it, the caliber is 43 Mauser. CIL in Canada reintroduced ammo in the sixties and seventies.I still see it at shows, and it is totally reliable and reloadable.

A little too rich for me, but probably worth it. When it went that high I didn't want to start bidding, and get in over my head on it. 0
