Can anyone Answer a Question?
Does a Member have to be Considered a Expert to answer Questions on this board? Because I don't want to over step my bounds! And or is it rude for a starting member to offer a answer?Thank you

Just my 2 cents but nobody is an expert on all things GUNS if you have knowledge I for one would like you to share what you know. You might be the worlds expert on one thing but all of us can learn from you on that one thing. 0 -
If someone asks a question, and you know the answer, then dig in. Some of us are more expert than others, but I doubt that very many of us would qualify as an expert on all things that shoot.

Some of us are specialests, some are generalests, but none of us knows everything about everything. Besides, I don't think any of us are recognised authers on the topic (those are the people we turn to for our answers).
I seem to remember that my very first post on GB was a answer to a question on the "experts" forum. If the question is somthing your experanced with the answer to, than have at it.
Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.0 -
Well, started out in the small at putting replies on the "Experts forum".
Didn't miss all that much, when compared to other Experts.
Could only talk from personal experience and one question might have more than one aswer. So this is a great way to obtain info and start out from.
Offcourse there are some things that you feel really confident in - and if you feel a certain area haven't been covered, spend a little time and put it into words.
It's the only way we can all learn a little and become better.
Only thing that might come up is someone with additional or correcting info. =o)
Don't do anything that I've allready done - That'd be just plain STOOOOOOPID.0 -
Welcome Shooter1. We all began here as starting members so step right up and fire away because I have learned plenty from reading the posts of our many members.

Break down the word "expert";
1) EX= has been
2) SPERT= drip under pressure
So does that mean an expert is a has been drip under pressure?
Welcome and fire away!

If you know the answer, write it down and press the "post new reply" button.
This forum is a type of firearms "trivial pursuit" for those truely interested in firearms and related topics. Much of what is posted here is informed opinion and many years of really good experience. I have learned a great deal about many topics I never had understanding of before, so it has been a pleasure to participate.
It is also rewarding to try to assist someone with a question about a firearm topic or confusing issue about firearms since there are many.

If it's about something I know about, I answer the question.
One thing the expert forum did for me was convince me to buy an 'original' Garand from the CMP instead of a 'new' one. I ended up buying 2, and want more!
It doesn't take long to figure out who the real experts are here. If you ever ask anything about a Garand, Mark Christian's the resident GURU!
