whats the proper scope???

i recently got a m98 mauser in 7x57 (7mm mauser). i was wondering what kind of scope i should buy for it. i would like something that is maybe between 100 and 200 dollars. i would like it new. refurbished scopes are alright as long as they're clean and in good condintion. i was looking for somethin that has variable zoom for different hunting terrain.

Man, that should only cover around a couple hundred scopes!!
If it were me, I'd be looking at the economy line of Leupold, Burris, Nikon and possibly Bushnell. All offer a line of 3x9 power variables and have outstanding warranties.

Try the Burris Fullfield II or the Leupold VXI series of scopes. They are in your budget.
