  Bid distributors/wholesalers like Lew Horton sometimes make special orders from the manufacturors, and have different non-standard barrel lengths, calibers, or other specifications on some models. These aren't regular catalog items with Smith, and are therefore somewhat unique.

  Then again, sometimes Lew Horton orders guns that S&W likes and then makes runs of their own. For example the 3" 629's.
