COLT TROOPER MARK III INFO NEEDED
I am looking, with little result, on where to find the manufacture date for a Trooper Mark II with the serial number J55752. Any one know when this was made? Or where I can look? I just bought a really nice one with a little story/history with it. Thanks in advance, Jerry.

Looks like about 1971 but I could be wrong. So what's the story?

I bought it from a guy yesterday, Saturday, that had had it for about 30 years in his safe, he stated he only fired it about 10 times over 20 years ago, and since then it has just sat. He got it from the widow of a New Jersey police officer who used it as his duty weapon. It is in excellent shape with only minor holster wear on the sides of the barrel. The wood grips are really nice and the action is smooth as can be. No blemishes marks or problems otherwise. A really nice piece. I think I did good.
