Preban? Mini 14

What serial number is the preban-postban point of Ruger mini 14's? I was offered one and the guy said it was preban. He thought it should be worth more because of this.

    I don't think a Mini 14 is a AW. execpt for the GB models I just read this on one of the boards ,maybe this one?Any way the Ruger web site will give you the Ser #s you need pre 1994?

    Don't waste your time on the mini-14, accuracy sucks on 90%. Besides, you can usually get a quality AR-15 platform for just a little more than what most want for their mini's. The AR's are much more accurate and have tons of accessories. Been there, done that! I should have listen to the advice here on GB and ar15DOTcom, but we all have to learn.

    Thanks for the info. I thought he was slightly full of buffalo chips the way he represented the gun. I bought the thing today after showing him your posts. Don't worry, I got it for MY price not his, and got some accessories thrown in.
