10/22 trigger group
who makes the best stainless 10/22 match grade trigger group,my wife bought me one of the new stainless 10/22 full size rifles for our anniversary.I have a couple of the carbines and had trigger jobs done on both but the gunsmith i used has since retired and moved away.this new rifle shoots great and I'm getting 1" groups but it has a 8lb trigger pull!!!.I thought on this one I might just buy a new group that has an adjustable trigger.if not a new group does, anyone know a good smith i could send the trigger group off to and get it tuned up and reduced to 2.5lbs

ss039, I'm not sure if they offer a trigger group in stainless but you can try power custom grand master. Available through FAC or guns-n-stuff. Hope this is helpful.[:)]

Power Custom is a good suggestion. Also look into what Clark and Volquartsen offer.
You can also buy the parts and do it yourself. Power custom as well as others sell polished/matched hammer and sears, plus springs and shims to get the max fit.
As for an adjustable trigger, with the 10/22 you can get a trigger that is adjustable for over travel, and I would suggest that, but there are none where you can adjust the pull weight.
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0 -

Try Volquartsen Custom. They sell a complete drop-in in "Silver" or "Blue". Cost is $199.99 from www.midwayusa.com.
Actually, you could easily buy a replacement target sear and hammer from Volquartsen and install it in your 10/22. It would cost maybe $55.00 dollars and you could retain the stock configuration of your carbine. The replacement hammer and sear would give about a 3.5 to 4.0 pound pull, almost the same as the trigger group for $200.00.

I had a 'smith lighten mine up for $20 and he took it down to around the 2# range and it's fairly crisp. My previous 10/22 had a Volquartsen trigger in it and it was really sweet, but I don't think I'd give $200 for one new. Personally, I find the factory "target" models trigger hard to beat, especially when lightened properly by a smith. 0 -
I put a Power Custom sear and hammer kit in mine.If I remember correctly it came with springs and shims.About 55 bucks from Midway. 0
