Speaking generally (as all rifles one to the next will generally exibit their own strengths and weaknesses)these are really quite accurate semi-auto's. Without doubt, one of the more robust designs ever concieved. As I recall, the gun was the (for the most part)brainchild of Dieudonne Saive, the chief designer at FN who also finished John Brownings Hi-Power. John had some major design work done on the pistol, and it took Saive until 1935 to sort it all out and get it finished...likely a testament to Brownings genius

There were a few variants on this gun to include the Argentine model that was done into the 308 cartridge and fitted with a 20 round mag. The Argentines seemed fairly happy with it, although its' tree trunk-like proportions made it somewhat unwieldy for the average Argentine conscript. There was a sniper version made of this rifle and while I am not sure the mounts and scopes are still available (Sarco likely has them, though pricey), I would assume that there must have been better than average accuracy potential or the Belgians would not likely have bothered to go to the trouble.
