P1917 Eddystone .... Remington?
I have a stock that I've pretty much determined isn't for a 1903 so I think it's for an Eddystone. However I was at a show today and I saw two rifles with the same stock. One had a tag that said P1917 Remington .... the other said Eddystone. Are these basically the same rifle, the stocks sure seemed exactly the same to me?

Yep..both are Mod.1917 Enfields. Winchester also made them.
Love them Pre-64's!!!!-Bob0 -
The US M1917 rifle was manufactured by Remington at their Eddystone plant, as well as at their Ilion plant. It was also made by Winchester. All parts are pretty much interchangeable.

Yes and I also have a P 14 made by Remington as well! The P 14 looked almost exactly like the Eddystone only chambered in 303! I have 10-14 1917 Eddystones now to figure out what to ask for them!!!!
I have 3 P 14s as well which are cheaper than the 1917 Eddystones. What were the 1917 Eddystones going for at the show if you do not mind me asking??
The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four Americans is suffering from some form of mental illness. Think of your three best friends. If they're okay, then it's you.
