I recently purchased a Browning challenger II .22 lr. target pistol that is in excellent condition, the blueing is about 98% and there are no dings or scratches on the wood grips. This pistol was also made in the good old USA,which I was told makes it even more desireable.Any thoughts on the value of this beautiful gun?

The shortest Challenger I've ever heard of was 4 1/2 ".

    Love them Pre-64's!!!!-Bob

Don't remember if it was a " II " or not.

If it is a Challenger, it could be a 4 1/2 and your not fully measuring the barrel (re: your comment about stopping at "part of the barrell that becomes square").

But if your certain it is a Challenger II they only came w/ a 6 3/4 inch barrel so this one is a cutdown. However, the big question is how does it shoot? If the work has been properly done it should still shoot pretty accurately, you'll just be working with the shorter sight radius and a shift in the balance point.

If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!
