Stevens 12 ga Pump - Age/value
Great Message boards!!!
I have a Stevens 12 gauge pump serial number 12179 and the Stamp says J Stevens Arms Company MODEL G20-A. Great gun. I still shoot trap with it. I have the same questions as one of the other members. When was it manufactured and what is it worth. Still in great condition with 95+ bluing etc.

Are you sure that the marking is "G20-A". Steven made shotguns Models 520-A & 620-A. The 520 was the earlier model that dates to the early 20th Century it has a "Squared-Off" rear receiver like the Browning Auto-5 shotgun, in fact it was designed by John Browning.

Hi Rufe-Snow,
Thank you for responding.
I suppose it could be a "620-A", but it sure looks like a "G20-A".
Supposing it is a "620-A", what is it's vintage and value?
I have attached an image (I think).
Thanks again

Hi devalkman,
A Stevens Model 620-A in 95% condition is valued at $215.00.
Hope this helps.

Thank you heavyiron,
Any idea on vintage? 20's, 30's, 40's?

Hi devalkman,
I am not real good with the history of this gun but I think it was designed by John Browning and was made from 1927 - 1953. I also think it was sold by Sears but I don't know know when.

Its not a Browning design...the yrs of mfg are probably right as well as value.

Hangfire:
My model 620 has "Stevens Browning 620" stamped in the barrel. I always assumed that indicated it to be a Browning design. I have seeen elswhere that the Browning held a patent for the model 520.
