strange markings on garand bayonet

Recently i found a 10inch cut down m-1 garand bayonet that was brought back by a friend from his marine tour of duty in 1954. on one side of the blade, it reads:U C U.S. with the arsenal flaming bomb-1942. nothing unusual there! but on the other side of the blade it reads U F H WHY TWO MARKERS STAMPS ON SAME BLADE????

  Indicates factory modification of existing M1905 bayonet. It was made by Utica Cutlery & modified by Union Fork & Hoe.
