thompson contender problem

The bar that blocks the hammer from hitting the firing pin is stuck in place and wont go down when the trigger is pulled. Any ideas?

  It's been a while since I played with contenders, but it sounds like somethings either gummed up or broke.
  I think I'd put the compressed air to it first,
  Then try spaying it with a good penetrating oil and hitting with the air again.
  If that doesn't work I'd disassemble as far as I could, Clean as best I could, reassemble and try again.
  Actually first step would be to call the factory. T.C., in my experience, has always been great with service.

  Thompson center arms is WONDERFUL!!!!!
  
  Call them and speak to Frank in service. They will fix it for free and ship it back IMMEDIATELY!!! My gun was back in less than a week believe it or not! Search under thompson Center arms for the website.

  I has almost the same problem with my T/C Contender and figured I did something wrong..probably did. However, sent it for repair, came back sound. Case closed. Good outfit.
