    Very seldom do you get a split case. Please don't laugh but is there any chance you had 22 Mag cyl. in the gun? I would shoot and look at each brass from each chamber .see if it happens again and keep track if it is always same chamber.

    Well this is why I only am allowed as a guest on the "experts" board. Here is the story. I bought this Ruger convertible from a dealer/bud in Vegas with only the mag cylinder. I looked in GB and found a 22LR cylinder (I thought) and bought it. I now can't find any cal. markings on that cyl. just the CO commerative ingraving.

    You are exactly right. It's a 22 mag. I need to learn to check everything. Thanks for the info.

    would you be interested in selling the cylinder? I have a Bisley that just came with the l.r. cylinder and I'm looking for one in the mag.
