I have a Super Black Eagle Benelli that I really like. I would suggest you give one a try and see how it fits. Mine will shoot 1 oz to the heavy 3.5" shells.

I know you said you'd prefer a semi. But take a look at the Benelli Nova, its their only pump model. Its extremly reliable I've had it in probably some of the worst conditions imaginable and it has never missed a lick. It'll shoot anything from 2 3/4 - 3.5 mags. Comes with 3 chokes, fiber optic bead and it has a mag stop button which is a handy feature. The Black Eagle is also a great choice.

One mans huge money issue is another mans chump change.

Not that the Benelli is not a good choice, but if you liked your 1100, and will go with a pump, why not look into the 870. A lot of folks have them and they are not pricey. I've had a couple of 870 wingmasters that had a finer finish than the 870 express models. I got my youngest an express at wally world for his first duck season because I was not flush with cash but I wanted him to have 'his' gun to care for. It certainly will not catch your eye, but no problems in about 8 seasons. I have never used the Rem 11-87, but if you liked the 1100 before it may be worth a look.
