Ruger Mk III PROBLEM

Inadvertant firing!
I'm a reader of the excellent Ruger Mark II pistol forum and owner of 2 Mark IIs which I love. Anyway, I'm hoping to help get this warning out before someone gets hurt.

It appears likely that there is a design issue with the loaded chamber indicator of the new Mark III pistol making it possible for a discharge wo touching the trigger. Please pass this info along to anyone who owns a Mark III. Can't you just imagine how much hay the gun control types could make on this if there was a publicized lethal accident?! ..Cristy (Catcatcher)

    Other than that, how do you like it? I've been trying to locate a MK III with the ACP type frame. Have you contacted Ruger? Their response?

    You do have my curiosity up. "It appears likely that..." Can you be more specific? Appears like to who? Reports of accidental discharges?

    Man, I have GOT to get out more...I have two .22/45's with the 3 1/2 inch bull barrel and like them a lot, a Mark I Target, and a Mark II with 5 1/2 inch bull barrel. They're all great for rapid fire elevating of old shotshells laying around. But...a Mark III? Whoa...some one describe it to me. BTW, I've never used a forum before, but I am overwhelmed with the level of knowledge and expertise displayed here. You all are great and I thank the stars I've found ya.
    Never fire in anger...only in fun and fear.

    classic ruger. measure with micrometer, mark with chalk, cut with ax. and you guys wonder why i dislike mk2's and the like? ha![:0]

    free speech is for all. next time you get hate mail, send it to me. i'll carry the weight for you. its my choice to tell this mk2 owner that he'd be better off spending money on another gun. my point is...if ruger attempts to improve their gun and all they achieve is to make a gun more dangerous, after building it for 50 years...i mean gesssh! what the heck are those guys at ruger doing with your money? you know where i stand on this. we the owners shouldnt have to tell ruger the problem. they should be thinking things out a little better. thus my point...an owner shouldnt have to IMPROVE the trigger. or be afraid to drop it.
