I'm a patient guy but... Break-Free?
I have 2 antique derringers that I have had soaking in Kroil for over 6 months. I think it's time for plan "B". #1 is a steel double barrel. The hex barrels should screw out of the receiver but are frozen. #2 is a brass/steel single shot. The barrel should slide forward on a dove-tail for loading. Also frozen. My question is - should I try soaking in Break Free or should I try heat and force?

Thanks Mark. I may have mentioned these to you when we met in Feb. Neither are worth a lot. The Williamson maybe $400 in nice shape. With a brass frame I thought that one would be easy.
I'll go with plan "B"!

After all that soaking in penetrating oil it probably won't matter, but just to be safe, use a cleaning rod to make sure neither is loaded before you resort to heat.

Try P B Blaster.It is capable of truly amazing feats of break-freedom.Apply to affected area tap a few times to set up vibrational quenches and wait and see.Sometimes more than one good application is needed but it's rare..This has freed some of the most rusted,frozen,corroded things I've ever seen.Good luck!! I agree with ace, based on my personal experiences.
PB Blaster is avaiable at auto parts stores.

try the freezer first before trying heat - might break it loose (let it thaw before turning the screw) 0
