Recommendations for Bore sighter
Can anyone give me a recommendation for a good bore sighter? I'm considering the Laserlyte system.

I have an older Redfield that works real well, but I'm always a bit nervous about putting a hardened steel arbor into the bore of a rifle. I still use it, but drape a single piece of plumbers teflon tape over the arbor before sticking it in the bore. A friend of mine who does quite a bit of this has tried one of the units (not sure of the maker) that sticks magnetically to the outside of the barrel on the crown. Nice theory, but he's ready to give it away as apparently accuracy is just not there.

I also bought the BSA in the hardcase. I works just fine and was under $50. I comes ready to use for caliber ranging from .458 to .17. 0 -
If you've already got a fixture to put the rifle in when you use the snazzy laser sighter; why not just point it out the window at something 1-200yds away and crank the scope crosshairs to whatever (Church steeple, water tower, power pole) you aim the bore at? This trick only works with rifles with removeable bolts, or that break like an old shotgun; but I've had excellent results with that method.
When I scope semi-auto's or non-removing-bolt guns, I generally use the front sight as the delineator of mid-bore, and take a WAG at elevation; I'm on the paper plate at 100yds and only have to fine tune.
Point is; if there's a cheaper way of getting similar results that I haven't tried, you might as well get the Leupold.
