Help with Auction/Sale of Collection
Hello all,
My father told me about this site, so please pardon me if I am unaware of some of the rules as I do not use these forums. Here is my situation; my father-in-law passed away this week and he had a small collection of weapons that includes about a dozen hand guns, some black powder rifles and revolvers and about a dozen rifles. Some of the items are an Uzi kit(?), an Action Arms Thompson 1927 replica, a real Thompson, and others.(All semi-automatic). My question is, as I have been asked by the family to find a suitable and legal way of selling/auctioning these weapons, is there anyone here that can do that or recommend someone in the Central, PA (Harrisburg) region to do that? I am located in NJ, and have no interest in any of the items at this time. Please email me at pdarke@gmail.com. Thanks!

Hello you can only sell to persons in your state and N.J. also has some very strict laws on the books If you know very little go to the list of FFL dealers in your area and get them to auction them off for you at this site.or sell on consignment. 0 -
It's not clear why you say that you would want to dispose of them in the Harrisburg, PA area. If that's where the guns are, you cannot take them with you back to NJ (I'm not sure if NJ will allow you bring in the black powder guns.) They would need to be sold to an individual in PA, or to a dealer in any state.
I agree with Perry Shooter's recommendation, as it is too easy for someone not familiar with firearms laws to get into legal trouble in the situation you described.
Maybe a reader in the area will offer to assist you....

BEFORE YOU SELL YOU STATE THAT YOU HAVE NO INTEREST AT THIS TIME IN ANY OF THE GUNS YOU MIGHT WANT TO RETHINK AND KEEP ONE OR MORE THEY ARE PART OF YOUR WIFE'S ESTATE AND IF YOU EVER HAVE KIDS IT WOULD BE NICE TO GIVE THEM ONE OF THEIR GRANDFATHERS GUNS WHEN THEY GET OLD ENOUGH.i WISH I HAD SOME OF MY FARTHER'S HE DIED WHEN I WAS A KID.
