Goverment recoil pad

Hi Experts
I found a black rubber slip on recoil pad that is marked US with a Ordance mark, and a number on it.In all my 65 years, and 20 year Navy retired I have never seen one. What does it fit?

  If it is what I am thinking of, it is used in conjunction with a grenade launcher that was avaliable for the 1903 and 1903A3 Springfield rifles. It is approx 3 1/4" tall and has about 1 1/4" of pad in it. Should have a number of B200968 with the ordanace flameing bomb and U.S. [:)][:)]
