Pre-Ban or not?
Is there a site somewhere with build dates for Norinco SKS based on serial numbers?

I just want to know if its provable that this gun was made prior to the 94 fed ban.

I doubt it, but if you're Stateside and have it in you're hand it has to be pre-ban. Slick Willy stopped all importation of Chinese made rifles. No more have been imported. 0 -
no good importation records were really kept!!! if it is russian, they were only made from 1949 to 1955, it is diffently PRE-BAN. if it is chinese, you can pretty much go by , either the time of importation, or if it has a bayonet lug still intact on the weapon!!!! HARD TO SAY!!!!contact BATF on chinese!!!! 0 -
The term "pre-ban" does not apply to the SKS, as manufactured; this rifle is NOT classified by federal law as a "semi automatic assault weapon".

GCA of 1968 governs importation of SKS and NO Norinco can have a bayonet or folding stock...
