Massachusetts Arms Co
I have a 12 ga single shot passed down by my grandfather, stamped Massachusetts Arms Company, serial #595. I would love to find out any information about this company and the approximate age of this gun. Can anyone help?? Thank You.

My references note, that Massachusetts Arms Co. was a trade name used on "Hardware Guns" sold/distributed by the Blish, Mizet & Silliman Hardware Co. of Atchinson Kansas.
The early ones were made by Crescent, later production was by Stevens. This would be over a period of at least 30 years in the early 20th Century.

Welcome to the Ask the Experts Forum and the <gunbroker.com> Family..
Now to address your question about Your Shotgun...There were TWO differant Manufacturers that used that particular name...First was the Massachusetts Arms Co., located in Chicopee Falls, Mass...from 1850 to 1866...And I'm sure that this was Not the Maker of Your Single Shot Shotgun..... Next came MASSACHUSETTS ARMS...Made by Stevens Arms, who used the name as a Trade Mark....These Utility Guns were made from the mid 1880's up to and thru the 1940's...They have No Collectors Value unless they are in absolutly Mint Condition..
There are TWO Models made..The Model 90, came in various Gauges, Takedown, Automatic Ejector, Plain Stock, Hammer...In Good Shooting Condition...$75.00.............
Model 94, Various Gauges, Takedown, Automatic Ejector, Plain Stock, Hammer....In Good Shooting Condition.....$75.00.....Hope this helps You out......Best............
