Best gun cleaning kit is ????

I have rifles, shotguns and pistols, of many calibers, and a complete bunch of miscellaneous gun cleaning rods. I would like to get new stuff, and hopefully limit the space occupied by all my current stuff. What is the best gun cleaning kit or kits that I should buy? Thanks for your opinion!

    Hi Baaddawg,

    Good question with more than one possible answer.

    I have a variety of guns too and it is always interesting to figure out what cleaning components will be needed.

    Believe it or not I obtained a Hoppe's 100 Year Anniversary Cleaning Kit that has served me well. It comes with rods that will fit most rifle, pistol, or shotguns, but not .17 caliber. It comes with brushes, oil, solvent, gun wipe, swabs, slot ends, and adapter. I would recommend it, if you can find one. If not there are many other good combinations.

    I use Bore Tech rods as well as a couple of Dewey's. They make a world of difference. Don't own a kit though, just good rods and buy patches and cleaners (Blue Wonder and Butch's Bore Shine along with a little JB's Bore Paste). Jags from Cabela's

    maybe that link will work otherwise check on cabelas and just look up tipton.

    They sell wire or nylon brushes brushes are sold in sets eather shotgun, pistole or rifle. each set comes in a plastic box with each brush being placed in its own hole saying what caliber its for. I really like mine, however I dont like the cleaning jags that much, I like the loop type so I just kept my old ones they work in my tipton rod.
