AMT Automag 3 possibly? For sale often on GB I have several and love them.

Chances are that it was a Universal Enforcer Carbine. They were made and sold as pistols during the 80's and early 90's. Both by the original Universal Sporting Goods Co. located in Florida, and Iver Johnson in Arkansas, when they bought out Universal.

AMT automag III; Awesome piece of ordnance. Probably my all-around favorite pistol. This baby fired in a home with an intruder present would leave a brown-streak right out the door(unless you hit him of course). Muzzle blast and flash of a rifle round out of a pistol barrel is a "supreme blast".

[only downside]I have had occasion to handle two of these babies and both had very bad windage errors that could not be corrected by sight adjustment. Both had to have the front sight bushing re-bushed and rebored for windage correction. After this modification mine shoots like a rifle at 100 yards.

I have only see an AMT pistol in .30 carbine once.

Some guy was shooting it in the next lane at an indoor shooting range. The noise and muzzle blast was awesome and really pounded me.

    It is a great weapon.

I have both an Auto-mag and a Ruger SA in 30 carbine. And I have a 30 carbine barrel setups in 10 and 21 inch for the Thompson Contender platform. Excluding the Contender. I like both the Auto-mag and the Ruger, but of those 2 the Ruger is my favorite. And as stated above, regardless of the type ... when you touch off a round it is a real light and sound show.

Now that you said it... it was an AMT. It was stainless steel. I've never heard of such a pistol. The muzzle blast was pretty amazing. It packed a punch. It had a 6 inch barrel. Great trigger pull..SUPER ACCURATE! I work with the guy and he's had it so long he doesn't remember what he paid for it. It was an AMT.
