Lyman Tang Sights

Would anybody know of a person I could send Lyman tang sights to for repairs. I have read they are very difficult to work with and parts are extremely difficult to find.

    I have little to no experience with peep sights, other than what I had in service. I have a few 94's , 92's that have tang sights with the correct letters on the under side of the sight that seem to come to for forward when they are released. Is this a factory setting are can it be adjusted?

    Hello Rob...

    Your best bet is to watch the auctions on eBay. I occasionally see a Lyman tang sight listed that has been messed with (cut base or extra hole in it, etc.), and those can be picked up for about $50 - $60. The piece you are missing is by far the most common problem found on those old sights. Is the pin that holds it in place also missing?

    Re: the pin. As a matter of fact it is. Considering the condition of the sight (I felt certain it must be of recent manuf.) I can imagin that a prior owner simply removed it. The pin, I figured woud be the easy part.

    p.s. Still not speaking to a fool I trusted who took a similar sight to a gun show (just to get some ideas on what it might be worth) and sold it for #35.00.

    What a bonehead[V] An original (complete) nice condition Lyman No. 1A currently goes for about $125 - $150.

    I have a really nice (95%+ condition) No. 1A DA in its original box that I would not consider turning loose of for less than $275.
