Any info on this Marlin?
Looking for any model, dom details, value on this one. Also, as it was passed down to me it will never be for sell, so would you suggest that I use 0000 steel wool and oil to remove some light rust in a few places???

According to "Flayderman's Guide", your rifle is a Model 1893.
The serial number makes it a early production rifle dateing to 1902.
Since the barrel is marked "Special Smokeless Steel", it should be marked "Model 1893" on the upper tang. Perhaps when the Marbles tang sight was installed, it was obscured.
Flayderman values them between $275 & $950, depending on condition.
