Russian Saiga rifle
Would appreciate help in determing the value of a Saiga rifle, this one is different from the standard hunting model, it has a pistol grip, AK type stock, and a muzzel brake, it is .308 cal. Has a russian sniper scope as well, with 5 mag's. thanks

Hi. I am not real good at this but a picture or more description would help.
I consulted the "Blue Book" and it lists the just the "Saiga Rifle". The notes are that hardwood (new in 2003, only available in .308 Win. caliber) stock and forearm.16.3-22 inch barrel length, matte black metal.
If the forearm and stock are hardwood, it looks like a new rifle would be valued at $329.00. A used 100% rifle would be $275.00. Add a $20.00 premium for .308 caliber and a $40.00 premium for wood stock.
This is the best I can do. Perhaps one of the experts will add more info.

Futher clarfication on the gun, the stock is plastic, not wood. set up just like the military AK. metal butt plate, stock is black. has the AK74 type brake, would guess the barrel is 16-17 inches. 0 -
A couple of years ago CDNN was selling the sporting/hunting model .308 Saiga for $230.
It's legal to rework them to a military configuration with a pistol grip, if a certain number of US made parts are used in the rebuild.
The Russian magazines that normally came with the Saiga, only held 8 rounds. If high capacity .308 magazines from another rifle have been reworked to function in the Saiga, the only way they can be legal ( the magazines ) is if they still function in the rifle they were originally manufactured for.
Considering the above, try to ascertain if the Saiga is legal before buying.
