JJ, Is that one a "Parker and Hearst" or a "Parkhurst"? I have one of the old Parkhust models myself. I don't think they are true collectors items from what I've been able to find out. Seems a lot of companies manufactured copies of the Parkers and tried to capitalize on the name. I'll be "laxcoach" from the board could help if you'd shoot him a message! GHD

    jj,
The Parker Brother's gun is referred to as a "lifter".
A serial number usually can pretty much date the shotgun.
Unlike later top lever Parkers, most lifters did not have the grade
(a letter) stamped on the water table. Grade/quality was based upon
the original dollar price and increased with the amount of engraving
and figure in the stocks. As strong original condition is everything,
one must factor the amount of vibrant case colors on the locks and frame, percent of blue on the trigger guard, percent of original varnish, sharp checkering, barrel finish, alterations, etc. It would be unreasonable to toss a number out before these questions were answered. If you check www.davidcondon.com there is an excellent photo of a choice lifter listed. Good luck.
