spotting scope info needed
My spotting scope just isn't able to allow me to pick out where my 5.56 rounds are hitting at 200 yards. How many power should I get in order to see clearly at 200 yards ? I only use the scope for high power matches. Thanks.....Joe

Hello Joe There are 2 things to consider one is power and the other is quality and lens size. I have seen a 20 power Unertl scope that you could see 22 cal holes at a distance that cheap 60 power scopes could not pick them up. Go to www.champchoice.com or champ.choice@eartlink.net ask for HOMER These folks go to the national matches each year at CAMP PERRY and set up a display of at least a dozen types and brands of scopes. On most high power matches at longer ranges there is someone at the target butts to pull target after each shot and mark with a spotter disk you can see these even at 1000 yards with a "good" 20 power scope quote:"PRAISE THE HARDBALL GUN" 0 -
A while back I saw an add for a TV system. A wireless camra is placed out at 200, 300, 500 whatever yards and beams the pic back to a portable TV on the bench. The system, as I remember it, was going for about the same price as a really good spotting scope. 0 -
I can see 200 yard bullet holes after it gets dark enough for other shooters to pack and go home......Swarovski Optic 0
