Colt Official Police value?
This Colt Official Police is for sale locally. It is a post war model 4" in excellent condition. The lock-up of the cylinder is tighter than most new guns and there is practically no play in either direction. Bluing is about 90%. Asking price is $279. What do you think? About right, high or low? Grips are modern rubber replacements. I know that hurts the value some. No box or papers. To me, it feels much heavier and better built than the S&W's M-10's. More like a Smith L frame.

There is no right or wrong answer here and the asking price will vary with the area of the country you are located in. I would say in my neck of the woods the price is $30.00 too $50.00 high.
I also assume this is not .22 caliber.

Thanks for your reply. It's a .38 Special. I was thinking of offering $250 including tax. If it had the original grips or box I'd go higher. 0 -
$250 would be about max. Colt OP's were good guns but parts availability is iffy, including grips. It's a shooter grade. 0 -
