M1913 vrs Weaver
Is there any difference between a scope or accessory base called a "Picatinny M1913" rail and a "Weaver" base? It seems that some advertisements imply differences while others seem to indicate no real difference. I would sure like to know. Thanks!

Hello a weaver base has for the most part 2 or maybe 3 cross groves and are made to fit a large No. of guns but each one only fits one brand and type of gun. The PICATINNY rail has MANY MANY cross groves and take all kinds of scopes and assorted units so you can fit rings with just about any spaceing. the weaver "TYPE rings will fit both BUT most will not contact both the front and rear of each PICATINNY grove at the same time this is no problem with scopes as they only try to move one way forward under recoil but some people like the PICATINNY rings on PICATINNY RAIL gives you that warm fuzzy feeling quote:"PRAISE THE HARDBALL GUN" 0
