was Llama, now Firestorm, Bersa (+Star)

Hi again all. Thanks for all the great info in my first post re:Llamas. Looks like I found what I was looking for. Now, next question: I was just told by a dealer that the Firestorm is made by the same company (and same factory) as Llama and Bersa. Is this correct? And what is the groupthink on these two brands?(Firestorm and Bersa) Are they as iffy as the Llama? I have no experience with any-my exFIL had a Bersa .380 but never shot more than a couple clipfulls through it.

As an aside-I see where that Star PD .45(that looks VERY compact)in the auction has a lot of interest. Are these available new? And what is the reputation of Star semi-auto pistols? Are they related to any of the above mentioned brands?

  One of my handguns is a Firestorm. I use it as a back up gun and it functions in that capacity quite well. It is easy to clean and has been dependable so far.

  I like STAR. GUN TEST gave them a good review. They are simple and work well. Accuracy is OK for a compact.

  "Firestorm" is the trade name/trade mark of a American Company that imports firearms. They are located in New Jersey.
  
  Some of the firearms that have been sold under the Firestorm name, have been made by Llama in Spain & Bersa in Argentina.
  
  Star went belly up 7 years ago. All the Star pistols you see being sold now, are used. Of the (3) main makers of handguns in Spain, they probably had the best reputation.
