I'm thinking of purchasing a Beretta 92A1 or Beretta M9A1. Theres a price dif. but I don't see the dif nor do most friends of mine. The only dif I can possibly think of is the protective coating that the M9A1 mags have...is that the only dif? Both have the rail, same weight, mag cap. is dif 17(92A1) vs 15(M9A1). Please help as my purchase will happen quite soon. Thanks for any help offered!

Not directly applicable to your question, but....

I have had a 92FS (9mm) that I have shot close to 7,000 rounds through (take it up to John Benner's TDI of Ohio for tactical courses for several years).

It fits me, has NEVER stove piped or jammed, has excellent accuracy for tactical/combat work, etc. etc.

I say again, it FITS my hand well. That has led to very satisfactory plinking, tactical course work, and practice sessions. The .40 would just be a different caliber...all else being equal.
