Value - Colt Gold Cup Commander

I have sitting in a box unfired for several years a Colt Gold Cup Commander in stainless. The gun serial number is GCC000X, in other words one of the first 9 units. I also have the letter from the Colt archives (addressed to me) stating when it was manufactured, what distributer it was sent to etc. According to Colt the gun was a production of 1000 pieces s/n GCC0001 through GCC1000

I'm curious to know what the value of the gun is, and does it make sense to continue to refrain from firing the gun?

  I WOULD NOT SHOOT IT UNLESS THAT IS YOU CARRY THE PHILOSOPHY "IT IS ONLY MONEY" THAT IS A GREAT GUN BUT WILL ONLY GO UP IN VALUE.
