Shotgun Question

Last year was my first to go pheasant hunting and I loved it. I used my pump shotgun and noticed one problem. I am left handed and the crossbolt safty is completly backward to me it proved to be a pain to reach under when you are trying to get a quick shot. So my question is who makes a semi auto shotgun with a left hand friendly safety? I know about the mossberg 930 (thumb safety) and some of the more expensive guns have reversible crossbolts. Any thoughts or suggestions. Cant be over $600.
    Thanks,
    Craig

Their is no such animal. You can have an automatic with a pistol grip, such as a Benelli M3 (although I cannot recommend a Benelli), or you can have a pump with a folding stock like the FN Tactical Police shotgun. No reputable company makes shotguns with detachable magazines, but if you get the FN it holds 8 shells. If you need more than 8 shells you are in alot of trouble. :)

We have had a bunch of threads recently cocerning paramilitary type shotguns your inquiring about.

Due to various legislation and government decrees enacted over the last 15 years, it will be almost impossible to acquire a shotgun with all naughty features your looking for.

The best your going to be able to get, for a reasonable amount of money is a Russian 12 gauge, clip fed, Saiga. CDNN was selling them a while back for under $300.

    Mark Christian:
You're right. My subgun money cuts into the money for my other toys. I probably won't even be able to afford an MP5[V].

I will at least get an Uzi however[:D].

I took a look at the Benelli M1 Tactical Shotgun. I like it. However they are all labeled "preban". When were these banned? Is the ban going to expire with the "Assault" ban, or is it a seperate ban?

Also, what would the price range for this gun be if it wasn't "banned"?

    dsmith,
I would highly recommend the M1. It is very reliable and a fast shooter. With one in the hole and six in the tube a good shooter can fire the last round before the first shell hits the ground.

As far as price goes both the M1 entry and tactical versions are available new for $650-900 depending on where you buy it.

You can also buy 2&4rnd mag extensions for the benelli! OH YEAH!!![}:)]

As far as legalities go, it seems your best resource for this info is pretty burnt out on this subject(Mr. Christian). So I will tell you my motto and probably get you (or myself) in trouble.

IF YOU CAN BUY IT, BUY IT, DONT THINK ABOUT IT, JUST DO IT!!![:D][}:)][;)]
