Hembrug Military Rifle Information

I have a rifle with the following markings -

HEMBRUG 1921
1953
Cal. 7.7

"Star" proofmark with a single character in the center

Rifle is bolt-action and feeds from a stripper clip. Overall barrel length is approximately 19" including am integrated flash supressor.
Any information which you could provide would be most appreciated

  "Hembrug" was the name of the Dutch arsenal where the various models of Mannlicher Model 1895 rifles/carbines were made for Netherlands military. They were all originally chambered for the 6.5 x 53mm rimmer cartridge.
  
  I believe that your carbine was reworked/rebarreled/rechambered? after W W II to take the .303 British military cartridge. The metric designation of this cartridge is 7.7mm.
  
  Many of these reworks were done in/for Indonesia, I don't ever recall seeing one with a "flash supressor", though.

  JUST A GUESS BUT HOW ABOUT A DUTCH RIFLE WITH A BRITISH #5 JUNGEL CARBINE BARREL SCREWED ON ?
