Springfield SOCOM scope ???
I recently bought a Springfield SOCOM 16 and have a red dot sight on it now,....but I'm thinking about getting a pistol scope for it (it requires a pistol/extended eye relief scope due to its forward 'scout type' scope mount) because I want something with some magnification. As dumb as this may sound to some for this rifle, I plan to shoot some deer with it this year. I was just wondering if the parallax on a pistol scope would be an issue with shots taken at 1-300 yards. I'm considering a 2X6X32 or maybe a 2.5X8X32. Any polite comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Just make sure you are using the correst eye relief for the scout mount. Not all "pistol" scopes are actually the correct length for this application. Im not sure I personnally would go for a variable power either. Perhaps a fixed 4x?
