Posting Images
How can I attach a photo? I want to post a picture of a gun that I am trying to find an estimate value on. Is this not allowed? Thank you for your time.

See this icon from the above icon bar?
If you email me the pic, I'll put it on a "host", villagephoto.com.
I will get a URL which displays your photo only in a "new browser window".
You can also do this yourself.
You copy the URL to the clipboard, and paste it between the two symbols that appear when you click the above mentioned icon.
You can post any pic from the web by getting it's URL, and posting the URL between the symbols that appear when you click that icon. You can also, if need be, just type in "left bracket, img, right bracket" and after the URL, left bracket, forward slash, img, right bracket".
A URL looks like this:http://forums.gunbroker.com/FTHLogo300x75.gif

I have written the procedure for posting photos. If you send me an email, I will send it to you as a Word attachment.

OK, why does GB not make it easier to post pictures here like they do in the For Sale section of GB? Just a simple question. [8D]

This really isn't a Gun Broker web site. See the logo at the bottom that says "Powered by Snitz Forums 2000". 0 -
manderson: The top of the page says GunBroker.com Message Forums Maybe some one from GB can explain.

rommy,
You need someone to "host" your pictures. Go here, http://photobucket.com/ and sign up. Just follow their directions for uploading onto their website. Once the pic is there, use the third address down (AS IS) and copy it into this forum. It is easy, and free.
gap,
My guess is that it is a question of bandwidth. (bandwidth = $$$) Pictures take up a LOT of bandwidth. GB provides us with enough bandwidth to have these forums, and the tools to insert pics from a "host" site. (Thanks GB) While it would be nice to upload pics here, I am sure it would be expensive to do so.

Thanks alot--I am not trying to sell it, I am just trying to get several different estimates of it's value. If that is against the rules--I apologize. I actually did see a previous post with directions after I posted this, and attempted to post them on "photobucket"--but I kept getting a window that said "page not available". I will try again later. Thanks alot for all the help. 0 -
This is the case with most forums. GunBroker has basically contracted Snitz Forums to supply the GunBroker domain with a forum environment. The application software for the forum is developed and maintained by a separate company. This is a pretty popular forum format. If you look at other forums, many will be identical to this. 0
