22LR/22WMR

I have a twin barrel derringer chambered for 22WMR, why can't I fire the less costly 22LR cartridge as practive rounds?

  For the same reason that you shouldn't fire a 16 Ga. shell in a 12 Ga. shotgun . The 22 mag case and bullet is larger in DIAM. then 22 lr if the case fires it might split with gas escapeing and the bullet won't fit the barrel very good. quote:"Praise the hardball gun"
