S&W "Born On" date

My newest addition is a 'lil Smith & Wesson Model 32 Hand Ejector (Patriot), and I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the date of manufacture is. The serial number is 670xx (I was told early '50's).

Is this 'lil I-frame in a .38 S&W cal. (good to excellent condition)rare? It looks like a great 'lil C&CW, but now I'm wondering... should I keep it "tucked" away and safe, or should I just carry it and shoot it?

Any information is always appreciated (even when I am told that my period rifle scope would make a good paper weight....)[:D].

  You got the right information.Serial # 54474 starting in 1949 to #122678 ending in 1974.This was called The .38/32 Terrier.$275.00 in excellent cond., $200.00 very good,$175.00 Good.
