High point 9mm carbine is malfunctioning..nd advce
I just bought this rifle...have shot maybe 120 rounds of quality ammo..what happens is 1) the firing pin tends to leave a weak imprint and 2)the semi-automatic function has diminished to such a point the receiver is not being thrown back to firing position after i let off a round. I pull the trigger after that first shot...and NOTHING..so i have to pull back, expel the live round, and put another in the chamber. This manually entered round will actually fire maybe 1/2 the time ...i'm gouing to take it back to have them work on it...but maybe i should just return it...being that i have only taken it to the range 2x...any opinions on what i should do...whats wrong....thanks..jason

you say "quality ammo"... who made it?
Also, have you field stripped it to make sure everything is as it should be inside? As suggested, maybe a cleaning is in order.
Lastly, they have a lifetime warranty so just ship it back if something is truly amiss

I ran about 500 or more rounds through mine before I sold it. I never had the problem you're talking about. If you're using decent ammo, I'd take it back and replace it. They really are pretty good guns for the money. A little hard to clean though. 0 -
Get rid of it as quickly as you can. I would stay away from High Point carbines and also Cobray carbines. If you want a good 9mm carbine, get a marlin camp nine or an AR15 in 9mm. Beretta makes the "Storm", a new 9mm carbine that has gotten good reviews.

I had one in which the little steel pin that goes thru the plastic trigger would slide out slightly, not allowing the trigger to reset every time. I fixed it with a dab of epoxy and sold it.

Avoid the Camp 9's ..I've had two and sold two. Buffers break and your in for repairs.
