1950 Remington Wingmaster

Can anyone ballpark a 1950 Wingmaster, first year production in about 90% metal, 75% wood? Plain barrel. 3cm X 4cm chip out of pistol grip. Mechanically perfect.

Books don't mention anything about this one.

    100.00 plus or minus 20.00. since new ones only cost around 200.00 you'd be lucky to get 100.00 for it in that shape.

    I hardly think an Express can compare to a first year production, but if you are anywhere close to being accurate, I'll keep it for myself. With a serialized barrel, it is one of the ones they don't make anymore.

    How about $150. in that condition. You are right about the Express though. People tend to forget about the original high gloss, walnut stock piece of work. But collectors like the pristine cond. IMO. nambu

    I think your gun should be worth considerably more than $120.00! The run of the mill Wingmasters are going for better than that on the auction site. Most any pawn shop will give you $150.00 for an Remington 870. at least they will in my neck of the woods.

    one of the books i have says the following
    870AP made 1950-1963,
    plain barrel , 90%--$165,,95%--$175

    870ADL--deluxe checkered version of the 870AP ,made 1950-1963
    plain barrel -- 90%--$180,, 95%--$200
    Matted top barrel--90%--210,, 95%--$220

    870BDL - select walnut stock ,
    Plain barrel --90%--$200, 95%-$220

    but the blue book just talks finish %, not missing wood. chips and cracks lower a guns worth dramatically.

    Personally, I would give in the $150 to $200 mark if in good operating, cosmetic condition. I have one of the earlier Express models and even THAT is much nicer than the current batch as to machining quality, the earlier Wingmaster is better than my express.
    It depends a little on the area you live in and the current mood of the times. It seems to go auto's, back to O/U,sxs, then pumps then back again sometimes. The others are correct in saying that the market does control this. "Why buy on old one when Wally World has one like it for $239?" Eye of the beholder and collectors are a whole other breed of cat.

    Pawnshops here will give you about 125. for a wingmaster and want 275. for it in "good condition:. Pretty lowball cash offers on stuff. nambu

    exactly my point. thank you. go to a pawn shop and see what they offer. thats what its worth if you sold it to joe across the street. if you are a gun dealer, its tag is gonna be a little more, to pay the overheads and tax. thus....120.00 is what i ballparked and its been second'ed. but as you can se, there are people here that would walk into a pawn shop and see that gun and pay upwards to 175 to 250 for it. as for me...with chipped wood? it would never happen.
