Model 94 ?

I have what I think is a 94.
The serial number is * 95599 *
26" Hex barrel
Chambered -30 WCF
Is this a model 1894 ?

sure sounds like one , early one at that , if that ser. # is currect looks like around 1896/1897, I would wait and get an answer from Bert H. or some of the other Win experts on here , cause that gun could be worth a fair amount!! the more info you can post the better your answers will be

BTW, 30WCF is the origional name for what's today called the 30-30Win

Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.

Hello EH...

With that serial number, it is indeed a Model "1894" versus the later "94", and it will be marked as such on the upper tang behind the hammer. It was most likely received in the warehouse during the 1899/1900 timeframe, but the BATFE still considers it to be a bonafide "Antique" (pre-1899 manufacture). You can determine its exact date of manufacture from the Cody Firearms Museum - http://www.bbhc.org/firearms/records.cfm

The barrel is actually 8-sided (octagon), and will be marked "Nickel Steel" "Especially For Smokeless Poweder".

Without seeing your Rifle (or detailed pictures of it), it is very difficult to estimate how much it might be worth. Winchester offered a fair number of special order options for the early Model 1894s, and those can/will add substantially to the collector appeal (value).
