shotgun legality question
I have my heart set on a Benelli M3 convertable shotgun. I was eyeballing it at my local shop today when I ended up in a conversation with the salesman. I was told that I can NOT put a magazine extention on a pistol gripped Benelli....Is this true? What are the rules surrounding auto-shotguns? The salesman also told me that the possible expiration of the assualt weapons ban (fingers crossed) will not have any bearing on imported guns such as Benellis, and that is it only applies to domestically manufactured firearms....Is this true as well?

Does that mean my Benelli M1 with the factory pistol grip and extended magazine is illegal? I am still confused about this. I purchased the gun in the 1980's with the pistol grip stock and the extended magazine.
Do I have to remove the pistol grip and put a standard stock on it?0 -
I thought you gave up on legal questions Mark??[:D] 0 -
Mark, This forum is my primary resource to answer questions that I fail to answer through my own research. I was advised to get in contact with you, by BambiHunter. I decided not to email you as to respect your privacy. I would hate to receive 20 emails a day from people I do not know. Again...I understand what you have said...but there ARE benelli M3 shotguns currently being imported with the 7 shot magazine so long as they do not have the pistol griped stock. As far as I am aware the pistol griped stock is a direct targeting of the 1994 crime bill and only the 1994 crime bill. 0 -
I thought this question was answered several days ago on the forum?
