Super X1
I was looking at a Winchester Super X1 12ga. It has been well abused, the wood stock has been painted black with a spray can, it looks dirty in the reciver and maybe some rust, very thin blueing. Could anyone tell me how these guns held up to conditions like this one is in. If it dosen't cycle well are they hard to fix? They are asking $159 is this too much?

best semi auto ever made. order a new set of wood, clean it, change the o rings, and shoot it for another 30 years.

Several years ago I bought my son a Winchester SX1(a skeet version) and I loved it but being a young fellow at the time he wanted what everybody else at the range was shooting which was mostly over and unders(browning, beretta, SKB, etc.). I loved it but I let him trade it for a Browning o/u. I should have kept it and bought him the o/u. It was the best shooting semi-auto I ever had my hands on. I really don't like gas operated semi-auto's but I sure like that one. 0 -
CHECK THE MAGAZINE TUBE, SOME OF THE EARLY ONES WHERE CARBON STEEL AND RUSTED BADLY IF NOT CLEANED REGULARLY. NEWER ONES AND REPLACEMENTS ARE S.S. (NOTE THESE ARE DOUBLE ENDED, IF THE FRONT IS PITTED/WORN JUST UNSCREW AND REVERSE) 0
