GOT A CHANCE TO BUY A REM 600 IN 243,,,ALL ORIGINAL EST 85-90% ARE THESE AS DESIREABLE AS THE VENT RIB 600,,IS IT WORTH 400.00,,I KNOW WHAT THE BOOK SAYS,,BUT IT SAYS THE SAME ABOUT THE 600 VENT RIB AND LOOK WHAT THEY ARE BRINGING,,,YOUR THOUGHTS PLEASE

Thats the going rate in our area for one. They are certainly a well sought after gun in the Northeast area of the country.

As was mentioned a lot has to do with the region your from.
Here in Texas a clean Mohawk will easily fetch $400.00 at dealers and gunshows.
I own three Mohawks and paid $425.00 for a .243 with a Redfield six power scope at a gunshow last year.
Try as i might to get one cheaper i have yet to see one drop much below four bills.
I own a Rem. model seven in 7mm-08 and it cant hold a candle to my older Mohawks in accuracy or trigger feel.
Of course my testimony will probably help drive up the price of these guns.[:0]

I've had my Mohawk .243 for over twenty years now.If memory serves me correctly,I gave $225 for it,but now if someone offered me $400,I'd just laugh.At the gun show held once a month over in Austin,you might find one if any at all and it'll be more than $400.

What's really painful is the fact that back in 1974 my gun dealer really tried hard to sell me a brand new Mohawk in .308 for the stunning price of....$89.95.
I truely wished i would have bought several at that price but opted for a new Rem. BDL .270 for the price of $184.00 because i thought the guys at the deer camp would laugh me off the place for bringing in such a miniature rifle to camp.
Little would i know at the time that a Mohawk in .308 would later become my favorite choice to take into the field during deer season.
Ahh,the foolishness of youth.[:D]
