Source for 9mm rimfire shotshells?
Can anyone tell me where I might buy some 9mm rimfire ammo for an old German Flobert smoothbore rifle, er... I mean shotgun. Thanks.

Heavyiron, thanks for the link to Midway. All I could find there in 9mm shotshells were for centerfire handguns and I need rimfire cartridges. Anyway, I now have their page bookmarked as they have lots of nice items. If they do stock 9mm rimfire shotshells please give me some more help finding it in their site. Thanks. 0 -
TW, as far as I know, OWS is the only party handling this particular cartridge. Midway has great prices on some things (not so on others), but I really doubt you will find this ammo elsewhere. At least, I've never seen anyone else offering shooting ammo; you can pay 4x this for some Winchester stuff if you haunt collectible ammo auctions long enough, but it would likely misfire as the domestic product was all made before 1941. Believe me, I wouldn't have even mentioned OWS if I knew of any other source.
TW, if you can get it cheaper (if only no additional shipping charge)through a local dealer or a similar source, go fer it - I'm certainly no fan of OWS. I know they have import franchises with several international companies so the material typically goes through their hands before it arrives elsewhere, but that may not be universal . . . nor exclusive in this case. I've just never been aware of any other primary source within the US.

Fiocchi still makes them. A websearch will get you to a field rep and some pretty reasonably priced ammo. Good luck! 0 -

Hello, From a cost standpoint the only shootable 9m/m rimfire is the solid brass Fiocchi. The feedback I get on them is many people have extraction problems with the solid brass shell. I have a limeted supply of Winchester paper and brass cartridges and I am told they fire and have no problems with extraction. The problem with them is they are expensive. They do pop up once in a while on the collectable ammunition section. You can do a search for them. One place in Texas was selling them for under $20 plus shipping. I don't believe you will walk into many local dealer shops and find them stocked. Good Luck

Wow, Thanks to all for the information on ammo for this oddball firearm. I'm happy to know it's available. I only need a small amount. Enough to testfire, then a supply to keep with the gun for collecting. It makes a nice novelty item, but wouldn't be much for hunting. A gentleman's garden gun I presume, or for informal plinking. 0
